The Falcons rode an outstanding pitching performance from Max Biddle en route to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Nanaimo NightOwls on Sunday afternoon at Elks Stadium.

Biddle threw seven complete innings allowing one run on six hits and struck out six finishing with a no decision. 

The visitors scored first in the top of the second inning, the only run they scored off Biddle.  The offence came right back to tie the game in the bottom half after Kaden Prosofsky smacked a one-out double. Two batters later Ty Peters knocked him in with an RBI single.

From there, the pitching staffs settled in and kept the offences of balance until the bottom of the sixth when the Falcons bats came to life.  They loaded the bases with one-out bringing up Prosofsky who doubled on the first pitch he saw to score Ashton Graff-Rowe and Rees Kozar, advancing Finley Buckner to third.  The next batter, Cade Burnham grounded out, forcing home Buckner with the third run of the inning.

Once Biddle left the game the NightOwls took advantage in the top of the eighth scoring three times to tie the game at four.  Despite the momentum, the Falcons offence came right back in the bottom of the inning with the eventual game winning run.  With Prosofsky standing at third, Josh Cunnigan grounded out scoring Prosofsky.

In top of the ninth Ryan Pineo faced the minimum and earned the win, helping the Falcons to clinch the series in their last meeting with the NightOwls.

The Falcons (24-15) will now hit the road and visit the Bellingham Bells (24-15) in a massive North Division showdown beginning on Monday night at Joe Martin Field.
