Pips Steal Saturday Win
Saturday night the Falcons fell 4-3 in Yakima against the Pippins in a game that saw 23 combined hits.
After the Pippins struck first in the bottom of the first inning with two runs off starter Mark Rogers, the offence came back to tie the ballgame in the top of the third. Jacob Loving singled home Druw Frost before Jacob Embleton drew a bases loaded walk to force home Loving later in the inning.
The Pippins struck back in the bottom of the fourth and then again in the fifth with the eventual game winning run.
In the top of the ninth the Falcons cut the lead to one but it’s as close as they would come. Talon Tucker collected an RBI single to score Nolan Eberwein to bring his team to within one. Later in the inning he was tossed out a home trying to score to tie the game for the final out.
Sunday night the Falcons and Pippins will play the series rubber match.
