Pitching Staff Grows
The Falcons coaching staff is pleased to add a pair of pitchers to the staff for the 2026 summer season who will each be hungry for innings on the bump.
Righty Colton Hughes (pictured) is a menacing looking presence on the mound standing at 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds. As a redshirt freshman at Antelope Valley College he has a live fastball that can fool hitters with great movement and outstanding accuracy.
He has been working hard in the bullpen this spring developing a well-rounded arsenal of pitches with the pitching coaches and has appeared in one game thus far facing three batters. The Colorado native will be ready to hit the mound when the Falcons season opens on May 29th.
Lefthanded pitcher Matt Prieto from D2 Cal State Los Angeles has also been added to the 2026 roster. He hails from Buena Park, California and is in his junior season following two years at Fullerton College. He’s been banged up this spring but will be hungry to earn innings this summer in Kelowna. Off the diamond he is a civil engineer major and enjoys horse racing.
Season tickets for the 2026 summer are available now as well as billet opportunities to create everlasting memories. Billeting can be a beneficial experience for both players and host families. For billet families, it means opening up their homes to aspiring baseball players, giving them an opportunity to share experiences within the billet family unit. For the player, it’s a chance to share different cultural and social experiences while developing their skills. To learn more, contact the Falcons billet coordinator Karen Nonis at 250-717-6870.
