Canada Day Series
Two familiar foes will meet up again beginning on Tuesday night at Elks Stadium when the Falcons welcome the Kamloops NorthPaws for a three-game home-and-home series.
It was just last week when the Falcons took two of three from the NorthPaws, winning both games at Elks Stadium and outscoring them 17-7. Both Nolan Eberwein and Rees Kozar hit homeruns in the series as the offence collected 29 hits.
The club is coming off a series win in Yakima, winning the finale 14-10 on Sunday. Offensively the team has scored over seven runs in 13 of the 24 games this season and is continuously hitting the ball hard. The batting average has climbed to .274, third highest in the West Coast League, 17 homeruns and 56 extra base hits showing off their ability to hit for average and power up and down the lineup.
The Falcons are not only scoring runs, but they are also keeping the opposition off the board. The ERA continues to be a WCL best 3.80 and pitchers have combined to fan 181 batters.
Coming into this mid-week Canada Day series the Falcons have a very good recipe for success against the NorthPaws who are struggling on the mound with a 5.88 ERA. Their command last week was not great when facing the Falcons offence uncorking several wild pitches and walks in key situations which led to runs.
They will have some confidence coming into this series after taking two of three at home from the visiting Nanaimo NightOwls this past weekend.
This will be a fun series to watch with two of the three games at Elks Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets for Tuesday and Thursday in advance at the Falcons ticket page or purchase them at the front gate beginning at 5:30pm on both days. The lone road game in the series will be on Canada Day when the team travels to Kamloops.
