Sumner Honoured
Righthanded pitcher Seth Sumner was named the West Coast League Pitcher of the Week on Monday after two dominating starts.
On Tuesday night at Elks Stadium in the first game against the Kamloops NorthPaws, Sumner was brilliant. He completely shutdown the visitors over the course of five shutout innings, he struck out eight and scattered four hits recording the win.
Then on Sunday he was outstanding on the road at Yakima. Over his six innings of work, he allowed one run on five hits and struck out four more batters in his fourth win of the summer.
His control was incredible in these two outings walking just two batters while fanning 12 and finished with an ERA of 0.82 and a 1.09 WHIP.
Sumner and the Falcons will open a three-game home-and-home series with the NorthPaws on Tuesday at Elks Stadium.
