Full Count with Carter Boone

What is your major: I’m still undecided on my major.

Who is your baseball hero? Max Scherzer because I love the way that he competes day in and day out even after being paid.  He never gives up and has that fighting spirit.

Your favourite Major League Team: I like following the Washington Nationals

Why play baseball and not another sport? From a young age I always threw a ball and I had previous family members who played in the sport. Even when I was younger I just had the drive and passion to pitch.

Any family in the game? My grandfather played baseball

What drew you to the school you are attending: I’m attending Yavapai College because I saw an opportunity to play and develop at a junior college before hopefully transferring to a larger school.  Yavapai felt like the right fit for me.

High School: Boone graduated from Basha High School in May of 2023. As a junior, he had a 1.81 ERA, earning First-Team All-CUSD and First-Team All-Region honors. As a senior, he had a 2.10 ERA, earning First-Team All-CUSD, First-Team All-Region and Second-Team All-State honors.

Personal: Boone was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 21, 2004. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. In the future, he plans to major in cybersecurity.
