Oh Canada!

Canadians will be well represented on the Falcons roster in 2025 with five new Canadians added to the club to join the four returning from a season ago.

Jimmy Dionne (pictured) is the first Quebecer to join the Falcons in franchise history. The sophomore infielder hails from Quebec City and has had an outstanding spring leading the Howard Hawks with a .373 average, 17 homeruns and 70 RBIs in 44 games. He also leads his club with 63 hits, 20 doubles and 42 runs scored.

Tyler Bono also joins the Falcons from out east as a native of Ottawa. He is a talented multi-sport athlete and was drafted to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2021 by the Peterborough Petes, but decided to pursue baseball and attend Yakima Valley College as a righthanded pitcher. This spring, the 6’6, 230 pound redshirt freshmen has struck out six batters over the course of his eight innings of work.

His teammate at Yakima, Mathieu (Matty) Morin is from St. Albert, Alberta and has joined the Falcons as well. The sophomore outfielder has played in 38 games this spring and is hitting .235 with 31 hits, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Closer to home, Maple Ridge native Carter Germain has committed to the Falcons and is part of the pitching staff. The lefty has thrown 5.1 innings at Allen Community College in Kansas this spring coming out of the bullpen and he has struck out seven. He will be no doubt used in certain situations for the Falcons this summer.

Finally, sophomore Jackson Boomer is adjusting to more playing time in the NAIA with his hometown UBC Thunderbirds. The outfielder has played in 42 games this spring and his hitting .208 with 15 hits and eight RBI while swiping nine bases.

The Falcons open the season on May 30th at home when the Victoria Harbourcats come to town for a three-game series. Season tickets and individual game tickets are available now, just call the Falcons headquarters at 250-763-4100 or email admin@kelownafalcons.com.
