Falcons Visit ‘Cats
The road trip scene shifts to Victoria for a three-game weekend series with Harbourcats beginning on Friday night.
Following Thursday night’s loss, the Falcons have dropped the first three games on this six-game island road trip and are looking to turn things around in the provincial capital tonight. Ontario native and righty Lucas Smith (1-1) will get the start on the bump for the visitors, his first of the season and third appearance of the year. The coaching staff is hoping he can go deep into this game to give some of the arms on the pitching staff a night off.
Offensively the Falcons (1-5) have hit the ball hard on this trip and have scored runs, 11 in the last two games alone. They are hitting .259 this season with six homeruns, second most in the WCL and have scored 31 runs to date. CJ Griggs leads the team with a .429 batting average, followed by Ashton Graff-Rowe who has played all six games this season and is batting .364 with a team leading eight hits.
Meanwhile the Harbourcats (3-3) are coming off a home series win over the visiting Edmonton Riverhawks, taking two of three and outscoring them 23-18. As a team they are hitting .293 and have had no issues scoring with 45 runs through the first six games. Their 61 hits as a team are second most in the league and they have blasted five homeruns.
They are scoring on the offensive side, but they are also giving up plenty with a team ERA of 7.79, coughing up 50 runs. The Falcons hitters will look to take advantage of their struggles on the mound this weekend.
The first pitch on Friday night is set for 6:35pm in Victoria, home of the 2026 WCL All-Star Game. Fans can stream the weekend series on the Harbourcats streaming service, HCats.tv.
Coming up Tuesday night, the Falcons finally return home to Elks Stadium to open a series with the Walla Walla Sweets. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate on game days, one hour before the opening pitch.
