Barrett Is Back

The Falcons are excited to announce that righthanded pitcher and Kelowna native Barrett Froehler will return to the club this summer for his fourth campaign.

He is currently attending Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, who oddly enough have the same nickname, the Falcons. This is his sophomore season, making six appearances so far this spring, primarily coming out of the bullpen. He’s recorded a pair of wins after seven innings pitched and has struck out four over the course of his outings.

As a Kelowna native and grandson of owner Dan Nonis, he has been lucky to have had three summers of valuable experience pitching in the West Coast League. This summer collegiate league makes a young pitcher grow up fast, facing top tier talent every time he takes the mound. Over the course of his three summers with the Falcons, he has appeared in 23 games and thrown 44.1 innings, striking out 31 hitters. He will be relied upon to give the Falcons quality innings whether in a starting role or coming out of the bullpen in 2026.

The Falcons open the season at home on May 29th when the Bellingham Bells come to town and season tickets are available now, as are billet opportunities to create everlasting memories. Billeting can be a beneficial experience for both players and host families. For billet families, it means opening up their homes to aspiring baseball players, giving them an opportunity to share experiences within the billet family unit. For the player, it’s a chance to share different cultural and social experiences while developing their skills. To learn more, contact the Falcons billet coordinator Karen Nonis at 250-717-6870.
