D1 Lefty Added

The Falcons are pleased to announce the addition of lefthanded pitcher Marland Jorgensen from Wichita State University.

Currently he is in his junior season following two years at Grossmont College in California. He’s a big, hard-throwing lefty at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. He had yet to make his Wichita debut after a pair of successful seasons at Grossmont. He appeared in 25 games, primarily coming out of the bullpen, earning three wins, three saves in 30.2 innings of work and struck out 33 batters.

Prior to his collegiate baseball career, he attended Madison high school in San Diego.

Coming into the summer season with the Falcons, he will be hungry for innings and will continue to get those opportunities if he is successful.  He will no doubt want to prove himself early as he works on his craft before heading back to school for his senior campaign.

The Falcons open the season at home on May 29th when the Bellingham Bells come to town and season tickets are available now, as are billet opportunities to create everlasting memories. Billeting can be a beneficial experience for both players and host families. For billet families, it means opening their homes to aspiring baseball players, giving them an opportunity to share experiences within the billet family unit. For the player, it’s a chance to share different cultural and social experiences while developing their skills. To learn more, contact the Falcons billet coordinator Karen Nonis at 250-717-6870.
