Mr. Rodgers’ Neighbourhood
Head coach Gregg Zaun has added catcher Owen Rodgers from Grossmont College to the 2026 roster.
So far this spring Rodgers has played in 36 games and has been on a tear, hitting .376 with 56 hits including eight doubles, a triple, two homeruns, 36 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He is in his sophomore year with the Griffins and has shown tremendous growth from his freshman campaign.
Last year, in his first season of collegiate baseball, Rodgers played in 29 games, hit .258 with 24 hits, nine doubles and 15 RBIs.
Coming to the Falcons this season as a catcher has the extra added perks of being coached by a former Major League catcher in Gregg Zaun. Rodgers will no doubt soak in all the teaching of Zaun to help him grow behind the plate and in the batter’s box.
The Falcons open the season at home on May 29th when the Bellingham Bells come to town and season tickets are available now, as are billet opportunities to create everlasting memories. Billeting can be a beneficial experience for both players and host families. For billet families, it means opening up their homes to aspiring baseball players, giving them an opportunity to share experiences within the billet family unit. For the player, it’s a chance to share different cultural and social experiences while developing their skills. To learn more, contact the Falcons billet coordinator Karen Nonis at 250-717-6870.
