Bear Clawed

Friday night the Cowlitz Black Bears scored four times in the bottom of the third inning and went onto beat the visiting Falcons 9-4 in the opening game of the weekend series.
The eventual winning run came in the bottom of the fourth inning after the Bears had scored their fifth of the game.
The Falcons finally got on the board in the top of the fifth when they scored a pair of runs as Aidan Kuni and Caden Mitchell both came across the plate. They scored two runs in the inning on only one hit and took advantage of an error.
In the ninth the Falcons added two more runs on a Nate Gray Jr (pictured) RBI single and a Raphael Smeenk RBI sac-fly. Carson Kimball was hit with the loss in his final start of the summer and will finish with a 4-1 record.
Offensively the Falcons tallied six hits, Gray Jr had a pair of them and had two RBIs. Mitchell had the only extra base hit, recording a double.
The Falcons meet the Bears again on Saturday night at 6:35pm. Fans can watch the game HERE.
